Graham, 41

I joined Giroscope in Aug 2010, basically to get me out of the house and into doing something useful with my time. I wanted to give my services to the community as I was unemployed.

I do mostly painting and decorating but work alongside the building skills supervisor to work on most aspects of house renovation.

I have learnt how to plasterboard and basic joinery and other basic building skills. I would like to learn to plaster, learn more about plumbing and possibly brick-laying whilst I’m at Giroscope.

Giroscope's Housing Pledge

  • So long as the conditions of the tenancy are met, you have the right to remain in your home for as long as you wish.
  • Giroscope will not sell your house, or transfer ownership to another landlord so long as you are a tenant of that house.
  • Giroscope will not borrow money against its property in a way that endangers the financial stability of the organisation and puts your home at risk.
