Following on from the Government advice Giroscope closed its volunteer programme at the beginning of the lockdown
We are keeping our office open with a skeleton staff who will continue to provide help and support, where it is needed, for our tenants, volunteers and the neighbourhood
If you need to contact us for anything please use the phone or the internet where possible to lower the risk of the virus spreading
If you need to attend our office, it will be open, but please observe the 2 metre rule – ie stand no closer than 2 metres from any other people
We will be operating an ‘urgent repairs’ only service during the lockdown
Stay safe and please get in contact if you have any worries or concerns … or just want a chat!
Hull City Council have launched a coronavirus helpline – you can find more details here
Giroscope, a registered charity, buys and renovates empty properties in west Hull to provide affordable homes for those in housing need.
Our properties are finished to a high standard, are energy efficient and let at affordable rents. We encourage prospective tenants to be involved in the renovation of their homes and house many of our volunteers – this helps to give people a feeling of ownership of their property. We do not charge deposits, rent in advance or non-returnable fees – making our properties available to all. We further provide security of tenure which helps to bring stability to our community.
We also do a lot more!
