With housing at the heart of Giroscope’s work, it is the provision of high quality volunteer and work placement opportunities for a wide range of people that enables the heart to beat.
We provide hands on experience in construction, bicycle repair, IT refurbishment, gardening and catering, as well as giving people help with accessing external training and finding employment. Giroscope provides a supportive work environment to meet the requirements of all abilities and needs.
We are currently running three government funded programs supporting people to grow their skills and confidence towards gaining employment, qualifications or discovering further voluntary opportunities. These are:
-
Exploring Opportunities
-
Exploring Employment
-
Exploring Volunteering
Our volunteers come to us from a wide range of backgrounds and with a wide range of differing aspirations. These include ex-offenders, refugees, long term unemployed, school work experience, people with learning difficulties, university graduates, college students and many more.
