ABOUT GIROSCOPE

Working with communities to build stable lives.

Giroscope is a people focused organisation rooted in West Hull, with over forty years’ experience creating stable foundations for people and neighbourhoods to thrive.

From genuinely affordable homes to enterprise spaces and hands-on projects, social value underpins everything we do. We combine housing, skills development, enterprise support, volunteering and wellbeing to support people to build meaningful, independent lives, through community-driven action.

We are bold, open and collaborative – less hierarchy, more conversation. A place where real connections and radical ideas come together to create lasting change.

We sometimes work with people facing barriers to employment such as past offending, immigration status, disability, substance misuse, mental ill-health, economic disadvantage or lack of education and experience.

Our approach is practical and human, recognising that everyone’s journey is different. Stability matters, but so does the freedom to experiment, learn and grow.

While our roots are firmly local, we also see the bigger picture. Giroscope is an active partner in the Northern Way, sharing learning from the frontline and contributing to wider conversations about housing, inequality and inclusive economic growth across the North.

Through this work, we connect local experience to regional and national networks, strengthening our impact while staying grounded in the community we serve.
