Giroscope’s flagship regeneration project, St Matthew’s Community Enterprise, was created to widen opportunities for our community and beyond.
Now, through a new partnership with Colliderfest, Hull City Council, and the University of Hull, we are bringing hands-on science directly into the heart of the community.
St Matthew’s was created to expand opportunity in HU3. This partnership allows us to bring inspiring learning into our neighbourhood, in a way that feels welcoming, creative and genuinely accessible to families. We are happy to provide a space where academic ideas connect directly with everyday life.

The domino effect
After attracting more than 35,000 visitors across Hull city centre in 2025, Colliderfest is extending its reach in 2026, working more deeply within neighbourhoods that are underrepresented in science engagement.
This event is designed for families to take part together, parents, carers, children, grandparents and young people learning side by side.
This is Colliderfest’s first major partnership with Giroscope and marks an important step toward embedding community voices in the festival’s future.
Together, we aim not only to deliver a successful event but to build lasting relationships.
We look forward to welcoming audiences to attend our Colliderfest event at the St Matthews Community Enterprise Centre.
